The WFDF 2020 World Ultimate & Guts Championships is organised by Team TOC, in close collaboration with the Dutch Frisbee Federation (NFB), the World Flying Disc Federation (WFDF) the province of Friesland and the municipality of Leeuwarden.

World Flying Disc Federation (WFDF)

The World Flying Disc Federation is the international sports federation responsible for world governance of flying disc (frisbee) sports, including Ultimate, Beach Ultimate, Disc Golf, Guts, and Individual Events. WFDF is a federation of member associations that represent flying disc sports and their athletes in more than 85 countries. WFDF is an international federation recognized by the International Olympic Committee (IOC), the International Paralympic Committee (IPC), and the International University Sports Federation (FISU), a member of the Global Association of International Sports Federations (GAISF), the Association of IOC Recognised International Sports Federations (ARISF), the International World Games Association (IWGA), and the International Masters Games Association (IMGA), and it is a registered not-for-profit 501(c)(3) corporation in the state of Colorado, USA.

Dutch Frisbee Federation (NFB)

The Dutch Frisbee Federation is the federation for disc sports in the Netherlands. Besides Ultimate, this also includes Disc Golf – an outdoor sport in which you must complete a route with several obstacles with a minimum of throws. At the moment, the NFB has approximately 1500 members.

Municipality of Leeuwarden

The organisation of the WFDF 2020 World Ultimate & Guts Championships is supported by the Municipality of Leeuwarden. Leeuwarden is the capital of the province of Friesland and also the largest city in the province. The city of Leeuwarden has over 123,000 residents. In 2018, Leeuwarden was European Capital of Culture.

Province of Friesland

Besides the city of Leeuwarden, the Dutch Frisbee Federation and the World Flying Disc Federation, the province of Friesland is also an important partner of the WFDF 2020 World Ultimate & Guts Championships. Prior to and during the event, side events are organised throughout the province of Friesland. The more than 3000 players will stay in Leeuwarden and its surrounding cities.

Team TOC

Team TOC is the organisation behind the WFDF 2020 World Ultimate & Guts Championships and various other large sports events. In 2019, Team TOC organised the 2019 World Archery (Para) Championships in the Dutch city of ’s-Hertogenbosch. It was the largest sports event in the Netherlands that year. The sports event agency was also responsible for the organisation of the BMX world championships in Rotterdam and various cyclocross world championships in the Netherlands and abroad.
