WUGC2020 on shirts Dutch Ultimate teams
The logo of the WFDF 2020 World Ultimate and Guts Championships (WUGC2020), next year in Leeuwarden from 11 to 18 July, will be displayed on the shirts of all representative teams of the Nederlandse Frisbee Bond (the Dutch Frisbee Association) in the run-up to the World Championships in their own country.
Ultimate is one of the fastest growing sports in the world. Worldwide, more than ten million people currently play the spectacular team sports, with a focus on fair-play, team spirit and gender equality. Jos Verhoeven, chairman of the Nederlandse Frisbee Bond (NFB): “Ultimate is a fast, physical and dynamic game. In addition, there is a huge amount of attention for fair-play and respect within sport. Even at the highest level there are no referees, but the responsibility lies with the players themselves. That creates a great atmosphere on and next off the pitch. ”
WUGC 2020 in Leeuwarden
In 2020 the WFDF 2020 World Ultimate and Guts Championships will take place in Leeuwarden. More than 40 countries, with a total of around 3000 players, compete in Friesland for the world titles. The finals of the World Cup take place in the stadium of Cambuur Leeuwarden. Eric Kersten (CEO of sports event agency Team TOC): “Ultimate has a huge potential. The sport is accessible for everyone and has a young and fresh image.”

To promote WUGC2020 in the international Ultimate community and to support the sport in the Netherlands, event organizer Team TOC joined NFB as their new shirt sponsor. The official event logo of Leeuwarden2020 appears on the chest of all national teams. Jos Verhoeven: “The Dutch Ultimate teams are getting better and more professional every year. Thanks to the shirt sponsoring, we can also invest in better coaching of the teams and further development of the Ultimate sport. “
